The app records motion from your phone's sensors while you ride, and stores the horse names and tempos you enter. All of it stays on your device, in the app's own storage. None of it is transmitted anywhere.
There is no account and no sign-in. There is no analytics or crash-reporting service. There is no advertising. There is no third-party code in the app that could send data even if we wanted it to. EquiTakt makes no network requests at all — it works exactly the same in an arena with no signal.
What stays on your phone
- Motion recordings from your rides
- Horse names and their measured tempos
- A record of your rides — date, length, and time spent in each gait
- Your settings, such as which sound you prefer
Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else, and no way for us to recover it — which is the other side of the same coin.
Apple Watch
If you use the watch app, your iPhone sends it the current gait and tempo so it can display them. That happens directly between your own two devices and goes nowhere else.
If you send us a ride recording
You can export a recording and send it to us to help diagnose something. That is always your choice and never automatic. If you do, we use it to improve detection and for nothing else.
Children
EquiTakt is used by young riders. Because it collects no personal information at all, there is nothing to treat differently — no names, no contact details, no identifiers, no location.
Changes
If this ever stops being true, this page will change before the app does, and the date above will say so.
